“Star of Bethlehem”

Throughout preparation for this painting, the Holy Spirit was showing me stars. One day, I stumbled upon Psalm 43, where David prays for God to save him, and in his prayer he pleads, “Send out your light and truth.” When I read this scripture repeatedly, I saw a vision in my imagination of Father God in outer space, setting the star of Bethlehem in the sky as the answer to David’s prayer. David may not have known that he was praying for Jesus to come, but Jesus was certainly the fulfillment of his prayer, “send out your light and truth.” Jesus is the Light of the World, the Way, the Truth, and the Life.
